When Is The Time To Have Relationship Counseling?

As you enter married life, it is a new beginning and a wonderful chapter in one’s life; it is also a life full of challenges as you go through each day. For some, there is a right time for relationship counselling but actually, there you can have a counselling every time you feel the need for it. It could be at the start or the latter years in your marriage, a counsellor will help you fine tune and refine the differences may it be small or big. Remember, small problems will become major problems if they remained unresolved. The best way is to check them early and ask the help of people around you if it gets out of hand.

There are conflict styles to watch out in your marriage and if one of you are doing these regularly, do not hesitate to patch up and learn new skills to deal with them or try considering a relationship counselling.

When Is The Time To Have Relationship Counseling?
  1. Yielding
You may have conflicts along the way and you feel that it is not worth to fight for your reasons and just yield to your spouse wants. This might be a good resolution for the moment but it can lead to more serious problems in the future such as resentment and depression. In a relationship counselling, they will teach you to make decisions for the common good of both parties, without leaving either the husband or wife unresolved issues.
  2. Freezing
There are situations when you just avoid the problem and put off a serious conversation. This pattern is called freezing but it can build walls and create tension and stress for the relationship. The issues will stay unresolved and every time you have a fight, it keeps on haunting you and will eat away the relationship.
  3. Fighting
When couples fight too much, they consider getting a help because it can create many consequences other than unpleasant and loud disagreements. Worse, it can lead to physical and verbal abuse.

If you feel the need for a relationship counselling, do it right away to have healthy and happy marriage.
